OFFICIAL COUNTDOWN CLOCK - The official countdown to the submission deadline is in the assignment email and on the official website. The time shown on this page is set one hour later than the official countdown to allow for last-minute submissions, but anything submitted after the official clock may be marked late by NYC Midnight. Late entries will still be provided feedback by the judges, but will not be eligible to move to the next round. MAKE SURE YOU ARE SUBMITTING BY THE OFFICIAL COUNTDOWN CLOCK!
ELECTRONIC FILE – The screenplay must be sent as a .pdf (Adobe Acrobat) or .doc or .docx (Word document). The name of the file must be the title of your screenplay.
FONT - - Each individual Screenplay must be typed in 12-point and in “Courier”, “Courier Final Draft”, “Courier New”, “Courier Prime”, or “Times New Roman” typeface – ONLY.
TITLE PAGE - The Title Page of the screenplay must only contain the TITLE of the screenplay and the LOGLINE. The Title Page should be the first page of your screenplay file, and not a separate file.
LOGLINE - The Logline must be a maximum of 2 sentences and a minimum of 1 sentence. The Logline serves as a brief description of the screenplay.
ANONYMITY - The author’s name must NOT appear anywhere in the screenplay, including the title page.
LENGTH - The maximum length for each individual screenplay in the 1st Round is 10 pages (not including the title page). There is no minimum number of pages. All pages, with the exception of the first page, must be numbered. The page size must be 8.5 inches (216mm) wide by 11 inches (279mm) tall. Any screenplays which are “loaded” or otherwise “packed” with text beyond reasonable spacing and margins may be disqualified by the LLC at the LLC’s sole discretion.
